President’s Message

As a Veteran and long-serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion, I am honoured to represent Airdrie Branch 288 as President to uphold our mission to serve Veterans, including serving Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP members and their families, to promote Remembrance, and to serve our communities and our country.

We have had an active membership of 400 for the last few years, and continue to pursue new members. Our events include meat draws, sports (darts, pool and an annual golf tournament), karaoke, steak nights, and RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) shirt days. Our challenge for 2025 is to maintain and attract new members. To remain a viable operation providing services to the community, including the Airdrie Cadet Corps, we need the support of membership.

This year’s Poppy Campaign will run from October 31 to November 10, with the Remembrance Day ceremony held at Genesis Place on November 11. Your support for a successful campaign is appreciated. Further details for volunteer opportunities will be provided at a later date.

Please accept this as your personal invitation to visit the Airdrie Legion for good food and fellowship. I look forward to seeing you there! Should you have any comments or suggestions on ways to improve our services, my contact information is shown below.
