Become a Member Today!
Canadian Veterans served and sacrificed for the freedom we enjoy today. Becoming a member of the Royal Canadian Legion is the ultimate way to show your gratitude and give your support. Continue to support your Legion by renewing your membership to show your commitment to the men and women who served their country in a broad range of conflicts, wars, peacekeeping missions, and disaster relief around the world. Membership Renewal Stickers are available at the Airdrie Legion. Visit the Branch today to renew your membership. Dues to join as a new member or to renew your membership are $55 annually. Membership runs January through December.
You don’t have to be a Veteran to support a Veteran. Legion membership is open to any Canadian citizen or Citizen of an Allied nation who is 18 years of age or older.
In 2026, the Legion celebrates 100 years of service. To mark this milestone, the Dominion Executive council and Provincial Commands have offered a free membership to every new member in 2026.
New applications for membership will be considered a Centenary member. This is not a membership category but an identifier to segment members who have joined for free. All Centenary members must be validated into one of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch membership categories; namely, Ordinary, Associate, Affiliate Voting, or Affiliate Non-Voting as follows:
Ordinary Membership: Includes still serving and retired military, reservists, RCMP, police officers, Canadian Coast Guard and others listed on the application form. When applying for an Ordinary Membership, include your military service number to complete your membership as an Ordinary Member.
Associate Membership: Includes parents, spouses, widows, widowers, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews of a person who is or was eligible for Ordinary membership. When applying for an Associate Membership, include the military service number for the person that served. For example, if your father served in the Canadian Armed Forces, you need to provide his military number to complete your membership as an Associate Membership.
Affiliate Voting Membership: Includes Canadian citizens or Commonwealth subjects from an Allied nation who are not eligible for Ordinary or Associate membership.
Affiliate Non-Voting Membership: Includes non-Canadian citizens or non-Commonwealth subjects from an Allied nation who support The Royal Canadian Legion's aims and objectives.
Centenary members are invited to attend General Meetings and Election proceedings; however, they are not eligible to be nominated or to vote. Voting rights apply once the Branch accepts Centenary members and assigns a membership category. Their membership will then be brought forward and approved at a General Meeting.
