Honouring and Remembering Canadian Veterans

The act of Remembrance is one of the most important ways to honour and thank Veterans for their sacrifices.

The Royal Canadian Legion is committed to ensuring Canadians never forget. We remember Canadian Veterans from all conflicts, as well as those who have made sacrifices on the home-front. Our mission is to ensure Canada never forgets the sacrifices of our Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, Peace Officers, Merchant Navy, and Reserves. We also remember our military families— the mothers, fathers, sons and daughters of Canadian Veterans. [www.legion.ca]

Airdrie Branch No. 288 of the Royal Canadian Legion is proud home to our Cenotaph the LAVIII Monument situated on Main street in front of the Airdrie Museum and in our Cemetery to honour our lost.

The Airdrie Cenotaph Monument is located at the "Field of Valour" park.

The Airdrie LAV III monument not only commemorates the fallen in Afghanistan, who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, it recognizes all the men and women whose lives have been forever changed by their notable contributions, both to their country, and to the many places in our world where they had been deployed as part of their service.
